Linen backing is the process of reinforcing and stabilizing a poster by gluing it with wheat paste to acid free paper and light cotton canvas. Although not perfect, linen mounting has emerged as the most successful process for preserving and restoring posters. Mounting provides an excellent base for paper replacement, color restoration and the minimization of tears and folds. Using only the best acid neutral materials, we bring over thirty years of experience to cleaning, mounting and repairing posters.
